Rolando has dedicated the last ten years to the study of transnational organized crime networks, analysis of high impact crimes, and terrorism. He has extensive experience in the design and implementation of crime prevention policies at the international level, from the International Center for Crime Prevention (ICPC) in Canada, where he coordinated a team of researchers in various crime prevention projects throughout the country. the world. His areas of analysis include drug trafficking and regulation, national security and political economy of crime. He is currently an Assistant Professor in Security and Criminology at the Macquarie University in Australia. He has a PhD in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), and is a political scientist from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico.
